Staff Jersey: from innovation to transparency – preparing for the Digital Product Passport

Founded in 2006 in Carpi (MO), one of Europe’s most important textile districts, Staff Jersey has always combined creativity, technology and sustainability to create high-quality Made in Italy fabrics. Its constant investments in research and innovation have strengthened its ability to respond to the fast-evolving needs of the fashion industry, from material experimentation to the integration of advanced production technologies such as electronic circular jacquard knitting machines that optimize costs, energy use and raw material consumption.

As part of the Just Fashion Project, Staff Jersey is actively contributing to a pilot focused on eco-design, end-of-life management and transparency tracking, with the main goal of preparing for the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and test its application within a resale model, exploring how digital tools can make sustainability both measurable and visible.

Within the pilot, the company is working on developing and testing a system capable of structuring and sharing product data across the entire value chain. This involves defining key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect real, tangible practices, those that characterize companies striving to keep production local, transparent and respectful of social and environmental standards. The activities include the design of the DPP software, its implementation and its validation in real production contexts, ensuring that the tool responds to the actual needs of the industry.

For Staff Jersey, this process represents more than a technological advancement: it is a way to give value and visibility to the perseverance of local manufacturers who, day after day, choose to innovate responsibly within their territory. Through the DPP, transparency becomes a practical means to narrate this commitment, transforming data into stories of excellence and sustainability into a shared and verifiable value.
