The webinar, “Driving a Greener Fashion Industry: Insights from the EU Just Fashion Project”, brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the fashion industry in its transition towards greater sustainability. The session was organized by INSME – The International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Representing the University of Antwerp and the Just Fashion project, Prof. Dr. Annick Schramme, PhD researcher Anna-Lena Müller, and Paz Yáñez Murillo introduced the project, its objectives and its ongoing work. They highlighted Just Fashion’s ambition to accelerate the transition in the fashion sector while supporting (M)SMEs in developing and adopting more sustainable, circular and socially inclusive business models.

The participation of a significant number of SMEs made the discussion on the project’s practical dimension particularly relevant, as it highlighted the Just Fashion aim to develop frameworks, methodologies, and tools that directly support fashion (M)SMEs in understanding their sustainability challenges and identifying pathways towards climate transition.

A further focus of the webinar was the Sustainability Transition Acceleration Hub, presented by Oliver Gajda from EUROCROWD. The Hub is being developed within Just Fashion to support fashion (M)SMEs in developing and implementing their sustainability transition plans, while facilitating access to relevant knowledge, resources, and funding opportunities.

The webinar provided a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing and highlighted the importance of creating stronger connections between sustainability research and the practical needs of SMEs as the fashion industry moves towards new business models.

Participation in the FAB-BUS webinar forms part of Just Fashion’s broader communication and dissemination activities, helping to share the project’s outcomes and approach with relevant stakeholders beyond the consortium. A big thank you to FAB-BUS and INSME for the opportunity to present Just Fashion and to contribute to this valuable discussion on the future of sustainable fashion.
